Dive over Jupiter’s cloud-tops with Nasa’s Juno craft – BBC News

Nasa’s Juno mission to Jupiter has reached its halfway mark and has revealed new views of cyclones at the gas giant’s poles.

As it orbits the planet every 53 days – Juno performs a data-gathering dive, speeding from pole to pole.

Its sensors take measurements of the composition of the planet, in an effort to decipher how the largest world in our Solar System formed.

  1. Before we can even think about creating habitation for mankind on other planets, we first have to figure out how to survive the current global warming extinction event happening right here, right now. 100 yrs is all we have, and it may be even sooner, as virus and disease multiply in orders of magnitude in warmer climates.

  2. When in close like this the Junocam may produce this fake look. It's digital and less than 2 megapixels. Or it's fake. Who knows with NASA as being truthful is not one of their finer points. Just like a couple years ago they held lottery events to see who would go on the manned Mars mission. They were to go and stay. Nothing more was made of it at least to the public. One thing for sure if a Mars mission was to happen all we would be doing is sending them to their death. We are no where near sending humans to other planets. I personally believe the moon landings were held on the 2001 set and Kubrick filmed them. Playing golf and riding a dune buggy on the moon would be a severe breach of safety and would not take place.

  3. Extraordinary. The orbit must be sosphisticated enough to lurch away from the exteme pull of the gas giant at the last moment. It must be travelling fast; none of the whorls of gas look like they are in motion.

  4. Do flat Earthers believe in the other planets too? If so do they believe they are flat as well and like a plate shape or something like that? Just I'm seeing some flatearthers in the comments calling this fake, whether they're trolling or not, I'm just curious.

  5. BBC Sport spends taxpayer money hiring all-black panels of sports journalists and pundits to lecture taxpayers on how racist everything is. Constant race-baiting, divisive and poisonous lies – SHUT THE BBC
