A comedian who hated politics and found the subject boring explained how she became involved after her mother died of cancer.

Luisa Omielan, a BAFTA Breakthrough Artist for 2018 who saw her Edinburgh show Politics for Bitches transfer to a BBC Three series of the same name, spoke to Politics Live reporter Elizabeth Glinka, about being accidentally branded “the face of right-wing comedy”.

  1. Please BBC, could you equalise the audio (that means "sound") ? Most companies that work in broadcasting do this, perhaps you might too . Ok, we know you're not a company, and you extort funds from the people, and suck up to the government for a bigger budget. and create propaganda for the political machine that commands you, and only employ people who will stay on message, but you could do better on this technical standard. You only have two, video and audio, perhaps that's too much. Maybe just stick to one: shutdown everything except radio. It'll be like the good old days. Make the BBC great again

  2. Not a criticism of this woman but a general criticism of British comedy on television.I believe all British comedy acts are discovered by television executives who are drunk definitely holding a alcoholic drink in their hands.Comedy made by the British is Unfunny and you'd have to be drunk to find it funny.Sat sober watching television I can't believe the crap the utter rubbish on television.Non comedy programmes are just as bad.

  3. I'll save you the bother of watching her routine…
    "…Patriarchy…abortion…vagina…racists…vagina…menstrual- cycle…homophobes/transphobes…vagina…men's vaginas…brexit…bigots…vagina"

  4. The idea that you "deserve" something by paying taxes is ridiculous. A cow may as well say "I gave milk my whole life, I don't deserve to be turned into dog food". The answer is to squeeze government until it becomes no larger than absolutely necessary. That's what Maggie was all about actually, but they did not listen, they did not know how, and they seriously need to listen now, as government uses technology and its exceptionalist self-view to farm non-public sector people like ants do aphids.

  5. When is she becoming funny. But hey people go to her show for laugh not emotional blackmail. You really aren't funny, and being stupid for the sake of it isn't funny. Never heard of you but I'll make sure I never watch you. And are you mental they have women only shortlists of emotionally charged women. BBC you're an arse and so is the unfunny lass.

  6. She is a good example of where we are and we are headed to. We have been "dumbified" to a degree that now we will have no option but to wait to be swept away to oblivion as civilization!
